Epic
Training Rides
The
LIVE2RIDE mtb training camps are
hosted by Alan and Albert who have completed 4
consecutive Cape Epic events successfully, several
other multi day stage races and more than 100
marathon mtb events and authored
the The Epic Guide. The
hosts are only too keen to share their experiences and
recipe for successfully completing an epic stage
race. Add to that some spectacular scenery, awesome
routes and meticulous planning and you have recipe for
a successful training camp. These tours and camps have been
hosted for the last 4 years on the Cape West Coast.
MTB
training tour and Epic camp
The MTB training tour takes place in October every
year and the epic training training camp is held in
January on the Cape
West Coast. We
plan 3-4 days of riding, the first two days
are usually the
longest and the toughest, and then it gets slightly
easier towards the end. All of the routes are very scenic and
reveal some great places to ride on the West Coast.
Cape
Epic training
These multiple days are a great time to test out
riding strategies in terms of food, drinks, riding
with your partner and bike and equipment setup. It is
also an opportunity to meet some other riders who are
going to do the epic as well as some who have done it
before. In the 4 years that we have been running Epic
training camps, all the riders who completed the epic
said that the training camps had been a vital
ingredient in their success. It was also great to be
riding at the Cape Epic and then see some familiar
faces in the middle of nowhere like old friends
meeting up.
 This
camps are fully catered and supported, it includes accommodation, breakfasts and dinner as well as
full vehicle backup on all the days.
