CAPE EPIC
2007 - The Hat Trick
|
|
Welcome to our Cape Epic 2007 website. For some insane reason
we are doing it all again for the 3rd time. We completed
Cape
Epic 2005 and Cape Epic 2006 and now the Amabubesi (3 timers
club) looms. Check out The Cape Epic
Pages for details on our last two
epic rides. The Cape Epic 2007 event
promises to be the best yet. Subaru South Africa will once
again sponsor us for the build up and the actual 2007 event.
Subaru was very impressed with our
2006 sponsorship and the
return on investment that they received from our unique
marketing offerings. We will once again ride
Raleigh bikes as
they have proved to be truly reliable and the support from
Raleigh has been exceptional.
Follow our progress, go to
www.cape-epic.com and
check the daily results for our positions.

champion will be teaming with fellow Swiss riders Zahnd,
Spaeth and Manetsch, as well as two South African riders,
Dawid Griesel and Anton Wynand, to make up the six-member
Outriders team for the Giro del Capo.

EPIC
Training Rides
|
As
part of our training program we e planned some epic
training rides. These
Cape Epic
training camps have proved critical for focused training
as well as being great to simulate race conditions. We ran two training camps one at Sabie Mpumalanga and another at Langebaan on the Cape West Coast. It is a great
opportunity to do some back to back riding and meet some
other epic riders.
Sabie Training camp was a great
success and we did some awesome rides and plenty of climbing,
read the
Sabie
training camp report.

Read the
ride report from out December training camp on the west
coast. Kevin Vermaak joined us for all three days and rode
some routes that he never knew existed on the West Coast |

2007 |
| The Magical and Untamed
Mountain Bike Race The Cape Epic 2007 is happening again and
we are going to be in it. A 900km 8 day
mountain bike race from Knysna to Cape Town. This is the
ultimate mountain bike race in South Africa. Cape Epic 2007
promises to be one of the most scenic epics yet. With a
healthy amount of technical riding included each day it is
going to be challenging. The first 3 days will be the
toughest, but there are no easy days at the epic so the rest
will more than likely be just as tough.

Our
main goal will again be to complete the race and share the experience with the other
riders. After two successful finishes we feel comfortable to set some targets
in terms of finishing. Having just finished outside the Top 100 teams in our
previous attempts we are aiming for an overall top 100 finish and under top 50
mens teams. |
